HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
People from all over the world have come to volunteer time serving the Holocaust Survivors here in Israel. Abundant Hope International has an active program in northern and southern Israel. To volunteer, we particularly appreciate individuals or groups that have a service to share. For example:
· Professional manicurists and pedicurists,
· Beauticians (make-up, facials, etc to make the Survivors feel wonderful)
· Hairstylists (haircuts for both men and women)
· Massage therapists (body, shoulder, hands, feet)
· Carpenters or handymen (or women) able to do light repair work
· Painters, light interior work
· Musicians able to perform for either personal visits or small concert
· Compassionate elderly care (those willing to put lotion on feet or hands, massage shoulders, light house cleaning, occasional deliveries for AHI)
We coordinate schedules and arrange for these services to be provided to our survivors. Not all services are needed at all times. An application process is required- please see section in red below.
BEIT SHALOM HOSPITALITY HOUSE
Beit Shalom is located in Northern Israel, in the historic town of Acco which is located on the Mediterranean Sea. Overnight accommodations are available for volunteers, guests, respite for pastors, providing comfortable, clean lodging at reasonable prices.
In addition, Beit Shalom is open for gatherings such as Bible studies, prayer groups, meetings and is a peaceful place for individuals to seek God’s Face.
On occasion, we need helpers at the two-story house. Duties include house cleaning, laundry duties, gardening work and cooking. We supply an Israeli style breakfast for guests each morning. If you are interested in volunteering at Beit Shalom Hospitality House, good health is required. You must secure and fill out an application to be considered for this position. OTHER VOLUNTEER POSSIBILITIES IN THE AREA
If you have arranged, prior to coming to Israel, a volunteer position with another organization in the area, you may consider using Beit Shalom as your base.

You can volunteer, spending time at Beit Shalom, doing just that. These opportunities are based on the individual needs of these programs and the municipality.
AHI is not responsible for procuring placement for you at these facilities. We can assist you in making contact with them but cannot guarantee openings at any given time without prior arrangements. HOUSING
Whichever Volunteer position you are seeking, whether it is:
- Host or Hostess for Beit Shalom Hospitality House
- A volunteer serving with the AHI Survivor program
- Pre-arranged volunteer work in other areas nearby and seeking lodging at Beit Shalom
A Volunteer Application MUST be submitted and approved before making arrangements to come to Beit Shalom in the capacity of a Volunteer.
Applications should be received at least six weeks prior to the expected time of service to allow for processing and booking lodging at Beit Shalom Hospitality House. Availability of beds at Beit Shalom will determine our ability to fulfill your request for lodging. Early application will result in early booking of a room.

Reduced lodging donation/rates are available for Volunteers. To receive this rate, each one is expected to work 5 days / week, 7 hours / day. Arrangements will be made to provide Volunteers with time off for their own touring. (Touring is at the volunteer’s own expense and not provided by AHI). Any time less than the 5 day requirement would be charged at a non-volunteer rate*. It is possible to arrange a combination rate as a part-time Volunteer and part-time Guest.
