2011 ~ A Year of Change, Growth and Amazement

History– if not reviewed, we forget what can be.If not believed, we can be blindsided by what may happen again. If we do not learn from the past, we have no opportunity to improve our future.Come and review with us the past year of AHI and see what is coming in 2012!

Early 2011 we began to feel the crunch of the US economy. We discussed changes with the leaders of the Survivor Associations and determined together to give coupons to the most needy only, distributed through the association leader.

With a Memorial Fund set up to assist the Survivors, immediate and unusual needs are met.

With the letter writing and Visitation Program, the most important part of this whole program- building relationship– is met.

We still greatly depend on the donation to the Survivors in order to meet all their needs and honor them on special days.Thank you to every Adopter and every donor who gives to these precious people.

Coming in 2012:

72 hour Survival Packs– to provide for our Survivors peace of mind in an emergency. Whether in the bomb shelter or under rubble, their pack will sustain them with vital sustenance for 72 hours.

Moving into the First Phase of funding for a planned 50-occupancy Survivor Village to provide safety and comfort for final years.

Sending the AHI Survivor program into other countries, beginning with Hungary.

More coming up!Arrange for an AHI representative to come visit your group or meet with your business to learn and partner with AHI!

From 1930 to 1933 up to 10.8 million people died resulting in cannibalism. This was just prior to The Holocaust.

Larry and Dede’s Corner

”The idea of making a shawl for her came to me very clearly - even the color - and I sensed the Lord's presence as I prepared the gift. It was also my sense - and I prayed - that the timing would be perfect and the gift would be perfect and that somehow it would be used to help her grasp that Yahweh has wrapped his love around her.”

With this in mind she set her hands to prepare a gift of love for the Holocaust Survivor she & her husband had ‘adopted’ through AHI’s “Adopt a Survivor Program”.

Unaware of this, weeks later Larry and I at Beit Shalom in Akko opened a package that had just arrived.Inside was a beautifully crafted shawl. An enclosed note read:

This is for Valentina’s birthday on December 9th.”

Still learning who and where the Survivors are located, we pulled her file and saw Valentina lived an hour away. Our hearts jumped! It was December 9th.We strongly felt we needed to do whatever we could to see Valentina received this special gift on her day.Within a few hours the shawl was wrapped in its lovely bag with tissue, the card translated into Russian, we called the coordinator in Valentina’s area making sure she would be home and Larry and Josh jumped into the car and made their way to Valentina.

When they arrived and she opened the gift her face began beaming. She lovingly held the red shawl and caressed her face with it.Her daughter     explained to Larry and Josh that just that morning she and Valentina had been shopping, looking for a shawl for Valentina as the weather had turned colder. They came home empty-handed as they didn’t have enough money. God’s timing is impeccable. Yahweh had indeed wrapped His love around Valentina.

This all started because someone opened their heart to love a woman on the other side of the world whom she had never met.It was an act of love for a Survivor who needed to be wrapped in the love of Yahweh on a cold December day.It was a day Yahweh wanted to let her know He had not forgotten her and wanted to send her a gift on the very day set aside to celebrate her life.

~A Few Words~

“By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his

inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going...

All these people were still living by faith when they died…”

“By faith he [Moses] left Egypt...By faith the people passed through

the Red Sea as on dry land…”

“And what more shall I say?I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak,

Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets who through faith… gained what was promised… others were tortured, faced jeers and flogging, chained, put into prison… stoned… put to death… destitute, persecuted and mistreated–

the world was not worthy of them.”

If they had been thinking of the country they had left,

they would have had opportunity to return.”

How are you thinking? On the past or on the future promised by God?Dwelling on the past opens opportunities to STAY IN THE PAST!

“...do not dwell on the past.See I am doing a new thing!”

[Scripture is from Hebrews 11 and Isaiah 43]
